I’ve got quite a vivid imagination and I’m easily overwhelmed by sensations and things that are beautiful or scary. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a ghost- I think I’m probably haunted by any own ghosts than real ones.
– Florence Welch
Hey, I’m Rini, a 18 year old girl who truly feels that ghosts are scary and is therefore very much afraid of watching horror movies. Infact, I am the same person who honestly loves to listen to true horrifying stories and tales but never truly got the courage to watch a horror movie. Currently, I am living my life at peace as I am avoiding to watch the terrifying movies. So, there are a plenty of reasons due to which I don’t watch horror movies and thus, prefer to watch some thriller movie rather than a classic horror.
1. Childhood terror
I truly want to share my childhood experience which has actually honestly formed the base of my fear for horror movies. The experience is basically based on watching my first horror movie when I was a 5 year old kid. So, truly the experience was indeed nerve wrecking for me because it developed the potential fear which haunts me till today. It was an Indian horror film known by the name, ” Krishna Cottage “. I still clearly remember the memories of some of the days after watching that movie, which was like I got totally afraid of doing even the daily basic chores of my life like going to the bathroom alone and studying alone when “Ma” was working at the kitchen. Those were the days, which literally had a deep impact on the life of a 5 year old kid.
Insomnia is actually one of the important reasons due to which I don’t watch horror movies. Although, I am not an insomniac person but then also, I have to terribly dealt with Insomnia after watching a horror movie. Experiencing sleepless nights is indeed terrible. It can make a person literally sick and unhealthy and thus, it is also a major cause of ” depression “. I am a person who will always prefer the enjoyment of sleeping rather than passing sleepless nights for some silly reason of momentous joy like watching a Horror movie.
3. Time Waste
According to my point of view, I truly consider watching horror movies to be a major time waste as it doesn’t embarks anything productive. I am a girl, who will always prefer watching some enjoyable comedy drama rather than a horror movie as I feel that laughter is always the best medicine rather than our fear. A major part of the day gets wasted after watching a horror movie along with passing some sleepless nights which is indeed a terrible time waste, according to me. And since, time is very much precious, therefore it better to live in joy rather than some stupid fear.
4. To Live in Peace
As I have mentioned above, I always want to live my life in peace without the slightest impact of some stupid fear. So, basically inner peace can be developed when we are truly happy and to be happy, we should be always free from the scratches of our fear. After watching a horror movie, it never takes too long to feel extremely terrified, horrified and scared after some momentous enjoyment of watching the horror movie. We should always try to live in more peace and thus we should always try to watch happy or maybe sappy movies. These kind of movies are also good for our emotional health.
Lastly, I just want to mention the lines of ” Octavio Paz”
I think we all have our own personality, unique and distinctive, and at the same time, I think that our own unique and distinctive personality blends with the wind, with the footsteps in the street, with the noises around the corner and with the silence of memory, which is the great producer of ghosts.
